Reading with Teacher Tanya is a reading intervention program aimed at students with reading difficulties.
It targets the following literacy skills: phonological awareness, phonics, word decoding, reading fluency, comprehension, language and vocabulary, spelling and written expression.
Research has shown that students with reading difficulties are at risk academically without the appropriate remediation.
Individuals with learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual developmental delays and language disorders stand to benefit from a reading intervention program.

The reading intervention sessions are handled by Teacher Tanya Capuli, a Reading Interventionist/ Clinician with several years of experience in the field of Reading Intervention, Special Education and Early Childhood Education.
Using a diversity of research-based instructional strategies, the reading intervention program aims to equip struggling readers with the necessary literacy skills that will enable them to achieve better educational outcomes.
The reading intervention program is also a suitable program for beginning readers and as an enrichment program to further enhance the skills of children with or without reading difficulties.
SERVICES OFFERED
Reading Assessment - Using multiple forms of tests, the child’s reading level is determined as the starting point of intervention.
Program for Beginning Readers - This is designed for children aged 4-6 years old who are starting to learn basic reading and writing skills.
Reading Remediation - This program aims to equip struggling readers aged 7-12 years old with the necessary literacy skills in order to help them cope with the demands of academic work.
Reading Enrichment Program- This program further enhances the skills of students who are within or above their age-appropriate reading skills.

What is the duration of the Reading Intervention Program?
One reading cycle is equivalent to 24 hours. Upon completion of 24 hours of reading intervention, a Literacy Progress Report is issued to monitor the child’s progress.
Do I have to pay for a Reading Assessment at the start of the program?
Students enrolling in the reading intervention program are not charged a separate fee for Reading Assessment. The student is assessed as the sessions progress. A Literacy Progress Report is issued after completing one cycle equivalent to 24 hours.
Students requiring ONLY a Reading Assessment without enrolling in the Reading Intervention Program will be required to pay for the Reading Assessment.
