You may be a special needs parent, a parent to small kids, or a person taking care of an elderly or sick relative. You all have one thing in common: The importance of self-care cannot be overemphasized.

A popular quote goes, “You cannot pour from an empty cup.”

Self-care has been likened to flight attendants putting on oxygen masks
before assisting passengers in an emergency situation. You need to take care of your needs first before you can help others.

Self-care is not a selfish act, but a recognition of our human limitations. Self-care is self-compassion.
By cultivating self-compassion, we become better carers to those we love.
